Dunnage air bags, also known as inflatable dunnage bags or cargo air bags, are packaging materials used to secure and stabilize cargo during transit. They consist of an inflatable internal bladder (typically made of polyethylene) surrounded by a tough outer shell constructed from heavy-duty Kraft paper or woven polypropylene.
When placed in the voids or gaps between pallets or crates and inflated with compressed air, these bags expand to fill the empty space. This creates a tight, cushioned barrier that locks the load in place, preventing cargo from shifting, tipping, or bumping into other items during rail, truck, sea, or air transport.
